Meeting the Camargue horse
A unique and authentic experience in a family atmosphere in the heart of the Gard Camargue . Come and meet the iconic Camargue horses in the magnificent meadows of Le Cailar at the Poulan site.
The Puig ranch was created in 1928 and for 4 generations they have perpetuated tradition and modernity.
The oldest breeding farm produces multi-disciplinary horses while preserving their hardiness and authenticity .
Reception of the public
Discovering a Camargue horse farm
Every Tuesday in June, July and August at 6:00 PM. Starting June 16, 2026.
(Reservations required until Tuesday at 12:00 PM).
Procedure:
Participants should be welcomed 5 minutes in advance.
Start of the activity:
- The mares are gathered in the pasture by the herdsmen.
- Presentation of the herd - meeting with the Camargue horse
- Explanation of the harness, the attire and the Camargue traditions
- Demonstration of guardian games
- Tasting of local products (bull sausage, terrine, tapenade...) accompanied by a friendly glass of wine.
Duration, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes
We welcome groups of 30 people or more from May to September.
