quote

“Taking the road alongside vineyards from Vauvert, you hurtle down towards the sea as a natural extension of the Petite Camargue's lagoons”.

From the Camargue to the Costières

As you stroll along the roads of our beautiful countryside, you will see a vineyard that has shaped the landscape and significantly marked the intimate link between wine and the land. Many wineries have converted to organic farming in recent years, on all the region’s appellations.

The appellation “Costières de Nîmes” is the most prominent and the terroir (geographical area including its conditions) where this wine is produced has been awarded the national quality label “Vignobles et Découvertes”. Further south, you will also find the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) “Sable de Camargue”, an exceptional terroir in which vines grow directly in the sand on old dune ridges. PGI Pays d'Oc is the third largest wine-growing area in our region.
